Samsung M31 details and review

Samsung M31 details and review

samsung has started putting tons of effort into making some specialized budget phones on top of its existing stellar flagship phones. Notably, the M-Series has some really cool offering for those that don't need to distribute tons of cash on a smartphone.

Today, we're finding out the new Galaxy M31, the most recent entry in Samsung's M-Series. i have been using the Galaxy M31 as my primary phone for quite a while now and here's what I make of it.

Design and Display

When you check out the Samsung Galaxy M31, you'd certainly be reminded of the Galaxy M30s smartphone. Both the handsets do have tons in common in terms of the planning. to start with, both Samsung Galaxy M31 and Galaxy M30s sport 6.4-inch displays and are available with waterdrop-shaped notches on the highest of their screens. Both even have a plastic built, but then, that’s common altogether smartphones in Samsung’s M series. It has great viewing angles, deep blacks and punchy colours, which makes it look even as good because the ones you discover on high-end flagship phones, if not better. But i need to means that the bezels surrounding the display can an eyesore. it isn't something to complain about at this price range, but i feel there's definitely some room for improvement.

But for media consumption, the M31 is perfectly fine. In fact, i actually enjoyed using the phone to observe movies, TV shows and play video games. i can not stress enough that it's one among the displays I've utilized in this price segment.

Overall, I'd say the Galaxy M31 is a particularly well-built phone. i actually hope Samsung decides to try to to something more exciting when it comes to the design build of the longer term M-series phones.

Cameras

Now, let’s finally mention the cameras of Samsung Galaxy M31. The device sports a quad-camera setup that comes with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP depth sensor and a 5MP macro lens. For selfies, there's a 32MP front-facing snapper.

The photos that we took using the first camera of the smartphone clothed to be great. the colors were bright and vibrant and that they had an honest amount of details too. By default, the pictures from this optical lens are going to be saved in 16MP shots. However, you'll change this to full resolution if you would like to. the pictures taken the 64MP primary camera remain consistent in various lighting conditions.

Coming to the selfies crazy the 32MP front-facing snapper, most of them clothed fine in well-lit conditions, but their quality did drop by areas that were dimly lit.

Performance

The Galaxy M31 has Samsung's own Exynos 9611 chipset. It's the same chipset as you find on the previous Galaxy M30s, the Galaxy A50s and more. Exynos 9611 is the chipset that you can find in most of Samsung's budget phones.

This Exynos 9611 is a tried-and-tested SoC and this is very good at a mid-range phone. So the M31 will run smooth everyday with little to no lags or stutters. The software remains a touch for this SoC, so you would possibly notice a couple of hiccups while switching between the apps. The smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and is out there in two storage options — 64GB and 128GB that are priced at Rs 15,999 and Rs 16,999 respectively. Right now, Samsung is offering a reduction of Rs 1,000, so you'll actually buy the 64GB storage version for Rs 14,999 and therefore the 128GB storage variant for Rs 15,999.

Verdict

At a starting price of Rs 15,999, there are a good number of reasons to shop for the Samsung Galaxy M31. These include its design, the colourful display, the long-lasting battery and therefore the primary camera. However, the cons include the heating issue and a couple of software glitches that we mentioned earlier. We are sure those are going to be taken care of within the next OS update. The performance of the opposite three lenses within the camera module was inconsistent, in order that are some things to be noted before making the acquisition . At a price of Rs 15,999, Samsung Galaxy M31 won't disappoint, provided the cons we mentioned aren't deal-breakers for you.
